. . .grew up in Hammond, Louisiana and moved to Los Angeles to finish a degree in film production. While at CSUN, he worked in a gorilla suit doing singing telegrams, and in a more conservative outfit at Griffith Park Observatory, turning the Planetarium stars on and using the special "arrow" flashlight to show where the bathroom exits were.
After college, he lucked into a job as a recording engineer at Sunburst Recording (and, later, also Score One Recording in North Hollywood, which is gone now, though you can still buy the building). Somewhere in there, he started working with Rhino as staff Producer and video Director/Editor. He was a member of Big Daddy, with whom he recorded two albums and sang a top ten hit in England (a lovely place, where he briefly had bright orange hair). A bit later, he helped form Jump in the Water, a band which released two albums, one for MCA and one for Polygram. In the middle of all this, he played on, engineered, produced, compiled, mastered, edited and/or directed more projects than you can shake a stick at, though he did, occasionally, try to shake a stick at them, stuff for The Disney Channel, Columbia Pictures, The Turtles, Elvira (yes, the Mistress of the Dark), Patsy Cline, Nitro, Mamie Van Doren, Bobby "Boris" Picket, Jesse Ventura, Edgar Winter, Steve Martin, Joe Frazier (yes, the boxer), William Shatner, Alice Cooper, Marvin Gaye, Ralston-Purina Cereals , and lots more.
While he was there, he picked up a Best Instructional Video award, a Clio Nomination (watch the video-Dave is the lion), and a big stress headache.
In 1990, he escaped from Los Angeles, enrolling in grad school at LSU. After 15 years of teaching American Literature (mainly at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond), Dave retired from academia and began playing with computers. Now, by day, he writes database software for the Louisiana Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities. In the evenings, he plays solo and duo gigs at local restaurants, and plays with a batch of bands on the weekends. He also teaches guitar, bass, and piano lessons, works as a studio musician and occasionally provides music for feature films.
All of this leaves very little time for sasquatch-hunting.
Music
Every kind of music.
Well, alright, his repertoire of Ukrainian funeral dirges is a little spare.
You may have simply come here to find his Performance Schedule. Here it is.

"One of the things I'm excited about is my new studio, You Call This a Studio. It's a modest affair, built around a Universal Audio Apollo Twin interface into an iMac running Logic Pro X. Here's a two-and-a-half minute instrumental ditty I recorded to get familiar with the ins and outs of Logic:"
"And here's a video Andrew (my son) made--we did the soundtrack together in the studio:"
I've also got several band projects in the works all the time. Check them out here!
Work
Dave spends his days developing software for the Louisiana Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities. He enjoys it tremendously. At nights, he plays music. In between, he teaches guitar and bass, and works as a studio Engineer/Musician, mostly at his home studio, You Call This a Studio. He also makes websites for bands and businesses.
